(UK, 274100) The Clothworkers’ Foundation is the independent charitable arm of the Clothworkers’ Company, a City of London Livery Company. The Foundation has wide powers to promote the advancement of charitable purposes, continuing the Company’s long tradition of charitable giving. Since its establishment in 1977 the Foundation has made grants to charitable organisations totalling £82 million. The Foundation currently distributes an average of £5 million per year. Through its charitable funding the Foundation aims to improve the quality of life of people and communities facing disadvantage. The majority of funding is awarded under one our five main programme areas: Encouragement of Young People; Social Inclusion; Elderly; Disability and Visual Impairment. Although it is an endowed trust, the Foundation receives funds from its members (Liverymen) to augment its charitable giving. The funds generated are distributed via the Livery Fund, a sub fund of the Foundation. In 2009, the Livery Fund made grants totalling £56,000 to charities involved with eating disorders, the provision of breaks for disadvantaged children and respite for carers. The categories chosen to receive support from the Livery Fund change each year.

Donside Village Community (DVC) SCIO is our charity organisation for our community of Donside Village in Tillydrone, Aberdeen. Donside is our new village on the site of a former papermill. We’re a sustainable community nestled on the banks of the River Don. Our strengths are our location, heritage, homes, greenspace, river, wildlife and most of all our community. We were set up to act in the best interest of our residents. We’re made up of representatives from our Village. We take on roles and responsibilities to develop our Village and our community. We achieve this through physical improvements and events and activities, designed to bring us together as we grow. We aim to act as a voice at a local level through local networks, Community Councils and other partner agencies, including our social landlord, Sanctuary Housing. We are created and are home to Aberdeen Community Energy and the Donside Hydro, Scotland's first urban community hydro. The DVC is much wider than just people who live in our Village. While we and our activities are based in our Village, they are for everyone, near or far.
