(UK, SC036935) The Tree Club is an after school club and holiday club for children and young people with additional needs based in Blackburn, West Lothian. We provide stimulating, energetic and creative activities for children and young people, with one to one support if required. We have a high staff to child ratio which enables children to increase social awareness, and become more engaged in activities and form friendships outwith home and school. Children and young people with additional needs have little or no opportunity to be included in mainstream activities or play with friends in their home town, and rely on the Tree Club to provide an opportunity to interact with their peers and reduce isolation for themselves and their families. Parents of children who attend club use the time to, e.g. return to work, do training courses, spend time with the childs siblings and recharge their batteries. Parents fees equate to about 20% of the cost of running the club. Fees are comparable to mainstream after school clubs. We therefore appreciate the generosity of companies, charities and individuals to provide grants and donations to survive.

The box contains a water-purification kit and essential items for families who have lost their home and household belongings. The boxes are sent by air to ensure they arrive within days of a request for aid, with their standardised contents allowing for speedy transit through customs. WorldWaterWorks, the charity responsible for the Water Survival Box, works in partnership with Rotary Clubs, the Red Cross and other key aid agencies in countries worldwide. The standard Water Survival Box is designed for a family of four, with its main objective being to provide safe drinking water for 12 months through its filtration kit. It also includes essential survival items for cooking, eating, drinking, health and hygiene. Basic shelter, simple tools and key household items are also included.
