The purpose of the event is to raise funds for nominated South Australian charities with a focus on cancer research, prevention and treatment and to promote road safety. The two charities for Ride Like Crazy 2014 are Neurosurgical Research Foundation and the Flinders Medical Centre Foundation.

Up to 20% of children under 5 die from waterborne disease. 50% of girls do not go to school. A well costing $6,000 breaks this cycle of despair. Over 95% of all donations go to the project! And they are tax deductible.
