We provide a wide range of services to older people in the Boston and South Holland area. Our day support, home support, gardening and handyperson services are aimed at keeping people independent. Exercise groups, computer classes and lunch groups, as well as the information and advice service are also available. There are lots of ways that you can help Age UK Boston and South Holland provide services. A donation, whether large or small is always very welcome and if you are a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid can boost your gift at no extra cost to you by allowing us to claim back the tax on your donation. We can target extra funds for specific services such as support, or help provide a visitor for a lonely older person. We also need to raise funds for equipment and a newer van which we use at our Holbeach furniture outlet. This web also lets you donate or raise funds on behalf of Age Uk Boston & South Holland by setting up a fundraising page and inviting sponsorship for your fundraising activity. To discuss options, or simply have a chat about our services call into or telephone our Community Centre, on 01205 364 161. The Communicty Centre is in Strait Bargate, Boston and our opening hours are Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am to 3pm. You can also find out more on our website and from there, follow our links to Facebook and Twitter.

The Young Achievers Trust aims to recognise, grow and nurture exceptional young volunteers to enable them to achieve the greatest possible impact in their communities. We do this by delivering the Young Achievers Awards. Each year we search across the country to find 56 exceptional young people who have shown incredible dedication, initiative and leadership to create their own solutions to problems they have identified in their community. We are a unique award programme. Rather than simply recognising the young people who win a Young Achievers Award, we invest in them as future community leaders and change makers. We provide them with a tailored year of support and development opportunities, enabling them to develop their ambitions, talents and leadership skills.
Christians Aware is an educational, ecumenical and international charity and a member body of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland and Churches Together in England, Scotland and Wales. The charity has a network of people in Britain and around the world. The main links include Africa, India, Mauritius, the Middle East, Sri Lanka, Japan, the Philippines, the Caribbean, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. The international visits are mainly to our link communities, following invitations from them. Our visits and exchanges are pilgrimages which challenge those who take part to be open and flexible, to be happy to listen and learn. They offer new experiences, new friendships, new insights and new vocations. We always keep the words of Ronald Wynne in mind. He said, ‘Do not try to teach anyone anything until you have first learnt something from them.’ Other opportunities include pilgrimages, listening days, conferences and courses, the magazine, the books. The hope of all our work is that, through encounter, listening, learning and reflection, understanding and trust may grow between people, including Christians and those of other faiths, who may then work together to overcome injustice.
Without financial support from other people, 1996 Olympic 470 Silver Medallist, John Merricks would never have been able to fulfil his ambitions and demonstrate his remarkable talent for sailing. Set up by those closest to John following his untimely death, The John Merricks Sailing Trust seeks to help other young sailors (under 25) achieve their goals. Since 1997 the John Merricks Sailing Trust, a registered charity, has supported youth sailing by awarding grants to deserving individuals, clubs and youth organisations that have demonstrated their commitment to sailing and financial need. The John Merricks Sailing Trust is proud to be Supporting Youth Sailing in the United Kingdom.

Caring In The Heart of Camden Imagine having no-one to help you in times of need or sickness. Who would you turn to? Who can offer a helping hand? The only answer for many people living in Camden, young or old, is the St Pancras Welfare Trust. The object of the Trust is to help residents of the former Metropolitan Borough of St Pancras when faced with need or sickness and have nowhere else to turn. A separate trust, the Camelot Trust, supports holidays and school trips for disadvantaged young children. The area of benefit of both trusts lies within the heart of the London Borough of Camden and includes some of the most densely populated parts of the borough, many with high indicators of poverty and need. The most common request is to help people being re-housed - perhaps after years of living rough, living in a hostel or after leaving an institution. They have no resources or possessions and their new homes are usually cold and bare. We help by making small grants in cash or vouchers to buy furniture, bedding and clothes. We also receive requests to help young mums and their children, the frail and elderly and those in need of respite. During the year ending 31st March 2013 we made 164 grants totalling £23,577. An analysis of grants shows that they directly affected a total of 838 individuals. Beneficiaries included 9 pensioners, 23 persons suffering mental health problems, 26 persons with disabilities, 16 families being re-housed and 11 families seeking asylum. Your donation or legacy will make an enormous difference. Thank you
